Chemische Stoffe können gefährliche Eigenschaften für Mensch und Umwelt haben. Um Anwender und Umwelt vor solchen Gefahrstoffen zu schützen, müssen sich auf deren Verpackungen Informationen zur sicheren Verwendung befinden. Das gilt auch für Gemische, die Gefahrstoffe enthalten. Mittlerweile gibt es durch das Global Harmonisierte System (GHS) der Vereinten Nationen weltweit einheitliche Regeln. Europa hat diese Regeln mit der CLP-Verordnung (Verordnung (EG) 1272/2008) bindend übernommen. Gerne unterstützen wir Sie bei der Erfüllung Ihrer Pflichten.

Das System der Einstufung ist sehr komplex. Die gefährlichen Eigenschaften der chemischen Stoffe werden nach festgelegten Kriterien bestimmt und verschiedenen Gefahrenkategorien zugeordnet. Mehrere Einstufungen zu verschiedenen Gefahren sind möglich.

Das Kennzeichnungsetikett enthält neben dem Produktnamen die gefährlichen Inhaltsstoffe, standardisierte Gefahrenhinweise, Gefahrenpiktogramme, das Signalwort, obligatorischen Sicherheitshinweise und Kontaktinformationen des Lieferanten. Gemische tragen in Zukunft auch einen UFI-Code (Unique Formula Identifier).
