„Dampfer“ sollten darauf verzichten, das Gemisch für ihre Elektronischen (E-) Zigaretten selbst herzustellen. Mineral- und Pflanzenöle sollten unter keinen Umständen in Liquids enthalten sein und können bei Inhalation zu schweren Atemwegserkrankungen führen. Auch von E-Zigaretten und Gemischen (E-Liquids) unklarer Herkunft und Zusammensetzung  ist abzuraten. Darauf weist das Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung (BfR) hin, nachdem gehäuft schwere Lungenerkrankungen bei „Dampfern“ in den USA auftraten.

„Dampfer sollten auf Symptome wie Atembeschwerden oder Schmerzen im Brustbereich achten, besonders nach einem Produktwechsel.“ sagt BfR-Präsident Professor Dr. Dr. Andreas Hensel.
